Ulander Giles is the head football coach and former fullback for Arbutus Big Red of the Mason Dixon Football League, and proudly wore our Red and Gold as our lead blocker from 1997 to 2008, including winning a Championship in 1998. He also brought us another trophy in 2009, this time as head coach.
Quite the accomplished player, he was invited to seven Mason-Dixon All Star games, six Casino Bowls, and he is a member of the Mason-Dixon Hall of Fame.
He has been coaching since 2008, and first served as offensive coordinator under Head Coach Shawn Massey. He became the Big Red head coach in 2009, and has since won a league Championship, coached in four Casino Bowls, and two MDFL All-Star games. As of the start of the 2014 season, he has coached Big Red to a 66-15 record. He is a proud custodian of Arbutus Big Red’s 88 year history and tradition.
He is from Georgetown, South Carolina, and can usually be found with a fishing reel in hand, and many would also consider him a Grill Master!
